It's finally a little warmer so we got to play outside and mama was busy taking photos....oh boy. Mama really isn't that good and she says its so hard to get the PERFECT pic especially an action on. So she got smart and started filming everything. That's right she takes movies ALOT but you wouldn't know with some of the AMAZING shots she's got of me. After mama does all the filming she's going to the fun begins. Windows Movie Maker is her fav. since she can go frame by frame and tell it to take still shots. Then if it needs touch ups...I never need a touch up..she can use Photoshop to adjust the lighting or remove unwanted objects. This is how mama got those great shots of me and Ruby doing some flying when we played with the ball the other day!!! Mama loves this way to cause she doesn't usually have to mess with the flash. Plus when she films her 4-H group or horse group the kids not only get to see all their photos but watch what they did. They have gotten some really cool photos that could have been missed otherwise. So next time try filming your pup in action instead of doing regular photos....we move super fast. Here's a few great shots mama got!!
I give my doggy view on different dog products from toys to treats. I'll also give you an insight to my pawtacular life and my furry friends!

What a Ball
Tennis balls, rubber
balls, squeaky balls…….It is so hard to find a good ball to play with. Ruby likes almost any type of ball, where as
I’m not fond of fuzzy tennis balls. I defuzz
those and I break them quickly. Plus
some of the tennis balls aren’t safe for pups to play with. The ones for that people game can wear our
teeth down and they have a gas it them.
Not good at all.
Mama doesn’t let us have
squeaky balls cause 1) I don’t like them, 2) Ruby goes around all day and night
squeaking it……or until she gets distracted and it disappears. Hehe I help mama with that trick. We once got a Whistler from Chuck-It and Ruby
actually didn’t like it nor did I. Mama
was able to hear it and she said it hurt her ears.
For a long time the ball
that I really liked was called a Turnup from Ruffwear. It bounced all kinds of places so you never
knew where it would go. I lost mine and
mama couldn’t find another so that was a very sad day! Then Chuck-It came out with a new rubber
tennis ball. I’m sure they had it before
I got mine but we don’t get a lot of cool stuff around here when it first comes
out unless it’s for the people. Anyway mama
got me one and we tried it out. It’s
orange with a blue strip so easy to see especially in the tall grass. It also bounces really nice so I can jump
after it and have all kinds of fun.
I’ve had mine for 2 years
now and it still looks almost new minus the drool from Ruby cause I don’t do
that. Ruby likes to squish the ball in
her mouth a lot and it has withstood that plus I sometimes like to roll on
it. Oh, and mama likes how when we play
on the sand it doesn’t get all yucky……I don’t like my ball all sandy
either. Also, the drool from Ruby washes
off easily and/or dries quick unlike those fuzzy ones.
I have the standard which
fits in the basic type chuck-its, but there is a bigger one for big pups and I
even saw a little one for little pups.
Plus they have chuck-it’s that fit both sizes which would save on the
throwing arm.
I give my Rubber Chuck-it
ball 2 paws up and recommend it to any pup that loves balls.

NEW CHEWIES!!!
CHEWIES, CHEWIES and more
CHEWIES!!!! This is one of my favorite topics.
Since mama was a Dal mama for so long she is extremely picky about the
type of chewies we get. When most pups
get cow ears, bully sticks, tendons we don’t.
Mostly we get sweet potatoes, lamb ears and antlers. However, mama came across….wait for
it…..BISON BULLY STICKS!!!! This means we can have them. I have tried to tell her that I can have the
beef ones but she says NO, so this find is really EXTITING for me. I see all my doggy friends with their bullies
and it would make me sad. Anyway, mama
got me and Ruby each one….I wouldn’t have shared otherwise…..to try. Ruby wasn’t so sure to begin with but she
might have had the other type before she came to live with us. I of course took my time chewing it and
savoring it. Ruby did chew on hers and
actually chewed hers kinda fast but did leave a little piece that I felt
obligated to finish so mama would get us more of these. Mama did say they were smelly but not
overpowering like some other chewies. Of
course they got slobbery and could make some humans say they are yucky and do
the ewww thing but what do they expect.
I was helping mama shop for more and found they are available in 6”,
12”, braided, small pieces, rings and even a 30” long one!!! Oh my 30” of yumminess and mama wouldn’t hear
a peep out of me for quit sometime. Mama
wants me to tell you that it depends on each pup as to how long the bully will
last. For me and Ruby it averaged about
40 minutes of quite for mama and that isn’t including my nap I took
afterward. These bullies are made in the
US from bison grown in the US. This is
really good since some of the beef ones are imported plus mama is BIG on only
buying US products. We got the ones from
Bingo
Pet Treats and are available
on Amazon.

Keeping Your Pup Safe
One of the worst things
about winter is it get dark really early.
This means by the time we get done with our evening walk it is
dark. This can be scary and even more so
if you live by a busy road like I do.
Safety becomes VERY important especially for use black guys cause we are
super hard to see. I’ve seen several
pups without safety gear and one reflective strip doesn’t count. I live right on the highway so NO fancy
street lights here. Mama tries really
hard to keep use from walking in the dark.
We only walk a little while along the Highway then we go down a side
road but people still don’t always pay attention. Mama also tries to make sure I’m visible even
in our yard just in case and I may or may not like to hide and jump out at her
which scares her……I’m an ANGEL.
We have tried different
types of reflective gear and lights for the collars but I either loose them or
mama isn’t happy with the quality/performance. So this year we tried a new
brand of glow collar and leash called Litey.
The leash comes in a 5’ length, 4 colors (blue, yellow, green, red) and
3 settings (solid, fast flash, slow flash).
The collar has the same settings and comes in blue, orange, yellow, pink
(from the ones we found). Now most
people think red or yellow for safety which may be fine in their area but here
it’s not going to get people’s attention.
Mama got me a blue collar and green leash, while Ruby got an orange
collar with a red leash. Yes, they don’t
match but when we have them on and flashing people driving by take notice and
several have slowed down and moved over.
The other day I got my
collar yucky and mama was able to clean it without worrying about the light
stipe. The battery pack and strip can be
pulled out of the collar for easy cleaning then slid back in once the collar is
dry. As for the leash its actually
pretty durable if pulled and jerked on.
Ruby put it to the test when she decided she wanted to go play with a
kitty on our walk….she can be very naughty.
Mama is very pleased and it helps keep us safe so I’m giving it 2 paws
up.
| See how bright the leash is. |

Best Mama Ever
Most pups can say
they have the best mama or daddy ever but I think mine is the best. She’s loves me sooo much and is really
smart. When I was little my paws got
burnt and she knew what to do right away.
My feet hurt really bad and mama would soak them and use this stuff
called Boo Boo Treatment Gel by Pal Dog and that helped sooth and cool my paws. They healed within a month. It helped moisturize my little feet.
I recently went after the “EVIL” kitty and
got a cut on my leg. Mama cleaned it and
clipped the hair away then sealed it up enough to hold the cut closed. Every day it got cleaned and doctored until
it was all healed. I had a bald spot but
at least my tail helped hide it and the hair has grown back. I was sooo embarrassed
and really didn't want to go anywhere with mama if people could see my bald spot.

How I got my Family!!
I’ve been with mama since I was just 6 weeks old and I was
very cute and fuzzy!! At the time mama was really sad because she had already
lost two of her Dalmatians to old age (Simba and Annie) and Jordi was very
lonely and sick. Jordi hadn’t been alone
since he was 1yr old and mama thought a friend would cheer him up, so they
started looking. Mama took Jordi to meet
all kinds of dogs that needed homes and he didn’t want to take any of them
home. Mama had almost given up hope at
finding Jordi a friend and was doing her best to make him happy. A human friend had told them about me and my
sisters so they came to meet me. I tried
to be gentle, polite and cute but that is so hard for a puppy to do. Mama didn’t think Jordi really cared and was
ready to head home when Jordi started pushing me to mama. She asked him if he wanted to take me home
and Jordi pushed me to the car!! They
took me home; I was scared and excited all at once. What was life going to be like? Would they
love me always? So many questions that
every puppy wonders. My first lesson was
not to potty in the house and not on the bed.
I learnt that lesson my first night when I pottied on Jordi’s bed when
he grabbed me and drug me outside and wouldn’t let me come in till I pottied
outside. Mama said Jordi seemed happier
and he played with me some but learnt not to jump on him and wait for my
goodies cause he was scold me. 3 weeks
after mama and Jordi brought me home he got even sicker and passed away. Mama got really sad and I tried to cheer her
up and show her how much I loved her.
That's me and Jordi

Thats Me!
Hi, my name is Nanqu and I’m a sweet loving Malamute though
I don’t look like one. My coloring is
called a seal with tan points, which means I look black but my undercoat is
silver and I have tan where most have white.
I may be small compared to other Malamutes but I’m just as tough and
mama says mouthy but I just like being heard. Mama says my name fits me because
sometimes I act just like a polar bear cub and my name means little polar
bear. I like using my paws a lot and
sometimes forget to wait and charge through the house and don’t always use my
inside voice.
Mama started this blog for me to share different things I’m
doing, share taste treat recipes, product reviews and about what my mama is up
to. I live a pretty full life since mama
is always taking me to different places and events, plus I’m the boss when it
comes to mama’s treat business
